Republic Services acquires Wallace Bros. Disposal

Dec. 11—Republic Services has acquired Wallace Bros. trash collection business in west central Indiana, Republic confirmed Monday.

The deal closed Dec. 1 and covers the Brazil market and some surrounding areas.

"Republic Services is focused on providing superior customer service, and ensuring a seamless and positive transition for our customers," Republic Services said in an emailed statement.

No pricing changes are planned at this time, it said.

In addition, the company stated:

—Scheduled collection will continue without interruption. On-call dumpsters will be scheduled as needed in a timely manner.

—Customers will continue to be serviced by the same local team. Many of the drivers that customers are used to seeing will continue to handle their collections.

—Republic Services will contact customers in the coming weeks to confirm service needs and answer any questions. In the meantime, if customers have questions, they can call Republic Services at 866-443-5904.

Wallace Bros. Disposal & Recycling, established in 1996, was based in Brazil in Clay County. On its website, it described itself as "the largest independently family-owned and operated waste disposal operation in west central Indiana."

It had served customers in Vigo, Clay, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Owen and northern Sullivan counties, according to its website.

Republic Services, Inc., which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, has 13 million customers across North America and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. It reported $13.5 billion in revenue in 2022, according to its website.
