It appears that using the new iPhone 6 can be a painful experience.

In what’s been dubbed #Hairgate (#Beardgate and #Seamgate), people are blaming the phone for snagging and ripping out chunks of their hair, including facial hair, when they remove the phone from their face after making a call.

According to TechTimes, Apple’s new phone catches hair in the tiny space between the phone’s glass screen and its aluminum frame.

“Reports of Hairgate first cropped up on the 9to5Mac user community, where one user named Ayeai said although she did not have troubles about bending her new iPhone 6 Plus because she takes good care of her phone, what irritates her more is that her phone ‘keeps yanking out my hair when I’m making [a] call’,” TechTimes said.

Of course, many people are questioning the validity of users’ hair-pulling complaints. Forbes contributor Gordon Kelly recently said that the so-called gap between the front glass and aluminum “does not exist.” He said the glass is fused to the aluminum.

“Of the things for which the new iPhones can be criticized, hairgate is not one of them,” Kelly said.

This is just the latest “gate” complaint against the iPhone 6. First it was #Bendgate, where users criticized the phone for bending if left in a user’s pocket too long. But TechTimes said Apple also has to contend with this:

Other users, mostly women, are saying the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were not designed with women in mind. For one thing, women have complained that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus is too big for their hands, which are generally two centimeters smaller than men’s hands. For most women to operate the iPhone 6 Plus with just one hand, they have to have thumbs that are three inches longer.

I have an iPhone 5 and I love it. It fits in my hand, doesn’t bend and it’s never ripped out my hair.
