Earthquake in northeastern Japan, no tsunami warning - JMA

TOKYO, July 20 (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 hit northeastern Japan on Thursday, Japan's Meteorological Agency said.

There were no immediate reports of damage and no tsunami warning was issued after the 9:11 a.m. (0011 GMT) quake, the epicentre of which was off the coast of Fukushima prefecture. (Reporting by Chris Gallagher; Editing by Paul Tait)
