Feb 23 (Reuters) - Colombia's Grupo Argos reported a 4% increase in net profit in 2023, the conglomerate said on Friday, on growth in its energy and cement units.

Argos' profit rose to 916 billion pesos ($231.28 million) in the year.

Revenues at Argos, which also controls airport operator Odinsa, grew 6% to 22.59 trillion pesos.

The firm's cement unit saw sales grow 9%, while its energy subsidiary boosted sales by 12% in the year.

In a company statement, Grupo Argos CEO Jorge Mario Velasquez the company's 2023 results were "historic" and highlighted two milestones in the year: the asset combination between Summit Materials and Cementos Argos' US unit as well as the exchange agreement of Grupo Argos' stake in food producer Nutresa.

"Both are achievements that consolidate the company as a relevant player in the infrastructure sector."
