Why Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's comments are key for the AI market

In This Article:

Nvidia (NVDA) reports earnings after the closing bell on Wednesday, with investors closely watching the chipmaker's results as a bellwether of the artificial intelligence (AI) trade.

Creative Strategies CEO and principal analyst Ben Bajarin joins Seana Smith and Brad Smith on Morning Brief to discuss what he will be watching for during Nvidia's report.

"Anybody who's followed Nvidia long enough knows that their CEO, Jensen Huang, has a pretty good point of view of where things are going," Bajarin says, adding that Nvidia is "a very good predictor of demand" as "they obviously see their roadmap and what their customers are looking to do."

The analyst tells Yahoo Finance, "Regardless of whatever the estimates are ... the bottom line is the demand for [graphics processing units] GPUs remains incredibly strong."

Bajarin adds, "Jensen is going to be in a position to bring a lot of commentary to [Nvidia's full-year expectations] as well, and a lot of what he says will help seed and bring some lift to [the AI] market, not just this quarter but really for the rest of the year."
