US-China 'uncertainty' could be higher under Trump than Biden: Expert

While President-elect Donald Trump threatens a new "100% tariff" against China, Russia, and BRICS member countries, how are Trump's proposed US-China trade policies shaping up to the Biden administration's?

Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) Maurice R. Greenberg senior fellow for China Studies Zongyuan Zoe Liu sits down with Josh Lipton weighs in on Trump's tariff policy to deter competition with the strong US dollar.

"I would argue that if Biden's China policy actually represents a lot of continuation from President Trump's first term, the technology ban or for that matter, cutting Huawei out and making sure that China... does not have access to advanced technologies that could potentially empower the Chinese PLA [People's Liberation Army]," Liu explains. "So a lot of these measures are more or less the same. But I think what may make the second Trump term different compared with before is that the level of uncertainty would be higher.
