President Donald Trump’s potential 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada, which he has said will take effect on February 1st, are explored in today’s strategy session.
Lee Munson, president and chief investment officer of Portfolio Wealth Advisors, joins Morning Brief to share his insight on Trump's tariff plans, predicting they’re likely a "bluff."
"I think the idea that we're going to slap on these big horrible tariffs that are going to push inflation higher — I don't think I buy it," Munson says. Among other reasons for his skepticism, Munson notes that the Trump administration doesn't have enough of a plan for China to carry out the tariff plan successfully.
