Trump set to support 'one of the great assets' of US: Big Tech

As US President Donald Trump kicks off his White House return with a slew of executive orders, Salesforce (CRM) CEO Marc Benioff tells Yahoo Finance Executive Editor Brian Sozzi that he's optimistic about what the new administration means for US businesses and tech innovation.

"I think it's going to be a much more business-friendly administration, which is not that difficult compared to the last administration where there was no embracing a business at all," Benioff says.

Under former President Joe Biden, "There was no discussion of how to amplify, probably one of the great assets of the United States, [which] is our technology companies and our technology leaders, and at a moment in time where the whole world is becoming augmented by artificial intelligence," he adds.

On day one, Trump revoked an AI-focused executive order signed by Biden. Benioff says he's going into the new administration with an open mind about AI regulation. "Right now, at the beginning of this administration, I think it's best if we have a beginner's mind to see where everything is going. I'm very optimistic. I remember you about what's possible. They have some incredible people working on this."
