Trump seems to 'color within the lines so far' on federal powers

President Donald Trump was sworn in on Monday, returning to the White House as the 47th President of the United States.

Brown University Professor of Political Science Wendy Schiller joins Yahoo Finance's Julie Hyman and Seana Smith to break down what Trump said in his inauguration speech and didn't say.

Trump highlighted "specific promises he made, particularly on the border," Schiller says, adding, "He was very clear that he's going to use his presidential power to change not only immigration policies or US policies but also the deployment of personnel."

The scholar notes, "He said federal, not military, and I thought that was really striking," adding, "Not saying the word military is important [as] there are several senators that have already said they're uncomfortable with using the military for active border enforcement."

"It looks as if [Trump is] trying to get a lot of things done and broaden our minds, but color within the lines so far on federal power," Schiller says.
