President Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency's (DOGE) budget cut initiatives are beginning to raise concerns about the effectiveness of federal cost-cutting.
Tusk Venture Partners Bradley Tusk joins Catalysts to discuss all this, stating that while there is "plenty of waste and bloat in federal government," the timing and nature of these cuts are problematic.
He points out the recent rise in plane accidents and the uptick in these incidents recently.
"What he's [President Trump] doing seems to be so without regard to any thought that... there have been more plane accidents in the last couple of months than at any time in recent years. And, I'm not directly blaming his cuts in spending cuts to the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration], but clearly it's at the wrong time to have fewer air traffic controllers," Tusk says.
