Next up, T-Mobile. That stock is higher today after the company used its Super Bowl ad to announce it's launching a satellite to cell service in partnership with Elon Musk's Starlink. For now, there is a free beta offer, um, or beta testing offer. And then it's going to be 15 bucks after that free trial period. But this is sort of part of a larger expansion of these types of services to areas that don't normally get cell connectivity to get it both through this company and others.
Yeah, T-Mobile and Starlink offered emergency texting alerts in disaster zones last year, and then got the regulatory green light to offer the service commercially. I was impressed too just, uh, you know, T-Mobile as a Super ad, a Super Bowl ad, and then Elon Musk with his like 217 million followers next posting about it too. That's a lot of marketing muscle.
It is a lot of marketing muscle. But there are as I mentioned, there are others as well. Um Bloomberg has reported that Apple is also adding Starlink to its network. It already works with a company called AST Space Mobile to give that expanded network AST shares have been moving higher as well today. And then finally, Globalstar is another one that is partnering up with others to do this kind of thing. In fact, there's a company called MDA Space, a Canadian company that is rising today after it signed a contract with Globalstar. It's going to be the main contractor to make its satellites to go into low orbit, um to then provide this kind of service. There's a whole constellation of companies in in this space.
Very nice. Very nice. Service in beta mode now, but users can sign up online, $15 a month, there you go.
Yeah.
