Boatwright was named as CEO in November after the unexpected departure of Brian Niccol to Starbucks as CEO. Boatwright has spent decades in operating roles at restaurants, 18 years in fact. Now he will be tasked with carrying over the momentum at Chipotle established by Niccol, while also looking to expand faster overseas and automate restaurants.
