The one person who could replace Gary Gensler as SEC chair

Eddie Johnson, Author and CEO of Grow My Bag TV, recently joined Stocks In Translation and spoke about who he envisions as taking up the mantle as Securities and Exchange (SEC) chair under a second Trump administration. Current SEC Chair Gary Gensler recently announced his plans to step down from his role on January 20, 2025, as President-elect Donald Trump reenters the White House.

"There was one person who I just did an article about, who decided to take herself out of the running. And that's the exact reason why you should make her take the job," Johnson says. "And it's Hester Peirce. If I was looking at replacing somebody, I think she has the most pragmatic approach to regulating crypto."

Peirce currently sits as the commissioner of the SEC alongside Gensler.
