Chronert notes that the next administration, regardless of party affiliation, will face a critical challenge: "the burgeoning deficit situation." He questions if the fiscal stimulus that has boosted the economy in recent years begins to wane, will it have a negative impact on earnings.

Overall, Chronert doesn't think either party is good for stocks stating: "Both candidates and both parties, in our view, are mostly equity negative right now."
