Markets shrug off election uncertainty. What it means for large-caps.

In This Article:

Stocks (DJI, IXIC, GSPC) closed Tuesday's trading session in positive territory as investors appear to be shrugging off the uncertainty surrounding the US presidential election.

To discuss the market's outlook, SLC Management managing director of investment strategy and asset allocation Dec Mullarkey joins Market Domination Overtime. He notes that large-cap equities have continued to grow despite the election uncertainty.

"If you look across most asset classes, they're not showing that kind of caution right now," Mullarkey tells Yahoo Finance. However, he acknowledges that the rate market suffers from election-related volatility.

While highlighting the outperformance of defensive sectors like utilities and financials throughout the election season, Mullarkey adds that "broadly, equities are looking at growth, and it's pretty good right now."
