Markets will see 2 phases in 2025: Pullback and growth

US stocks (^DJI,^GSPC, ^IXIC) saw new record highs driven by tech strength in 2024, but what's next for markets in the new year? Wall Street Alliance Group partner Aadil Zaman joins Morning Brief Co-Hosts Seana Smith and Brad Smith to share his market outlook for 2025.

Zaman tells Yahoo Finance that once the post-election "sugar rush" is over, there will be two phases. "The first phase is that there's going to be a wait and watch type of an approach where businesses and consumers will want to see how the new policies [and tax rates] turn out."

"The second phase is going to be in the second half [of 2025] where we'll get the trifecta effect. Low rates, low taxes, less regulation, and that's going to be pro-growth, which is going to drive up equity markets."

Zaman says during the first phase, in the first half of the new year, there could be a market correction "because we have gone up so much, and although the fundamentals are there to support it ... a pullback is definitely long overdue."
