Market shake up is good for opportunistic buying: Strategist

US equities (^GSPC, ^DJI, ^IXIC) are trading a bit lower in premarket trading on Friday after a small relief rally on Thursday which followed turbulence in the market earlier in the week. With so much volatility, will markets finally settle or is there more at play? If so, how should investors manage their portfolios?

Wells Fargo Investment Institute President Darrell Cronk joins Morning Brief to give insight into the latest market movements and how the company is managing its portfolio moving forward.

Cronk claims the turbulence in the market was a buying opportunity: "We had been underweight small caps for the better part of two years because large has just continued to outperform small by a huge margin. We brought that back up because we thought the Russell 2000 (^RUT) came down to a level that was more or less a fair risk-reward trade. Again, it wasn't off of the July big rally when it was all PE expansion. We also added some money back to high yield because high yield spreads went up to 380 basis points."
