Holiday shopping is the 'Super Bowl' for retailers

Wells Fargo Managing Director, Retail Finance Adam Davis joins Asking for a Trend to break down consumer trends this holiday shopping season.

"This is the Super Bowl for every retailer," Davis told Yahoo Finance. However, he notes that retailers face unique challenges this year: consumer spending is under pressure, and the selling season is shorter than usual.

To address these challenges, retailers are moving their promotional periods earlier to capture more consumers. Meanwhile, shoppers are becoming increasingly value-conscious. "It's going to be a great season for consumers to pick up bargains," Davis predicts.

Davis also points to loyalty programs, saying "it's a great opportunity" for consumers to get extra savings and retailers to get more traffic.
