How will Harris, Trump manufacturing plans play out for consumers?

This week Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump brought manufacturing and business to the forefront of their campaigns. Though both candidates introduced their policies for businesses, it begs the question: How does this play out for the everyday consumer when it comes to them actually voting on Election Day?

On the latest episode of Capitol Gains, Yahoo Finance's Rachelle Akuffo, Washington Correspondent Ben Werschkul, and Senior Columnist Rick Newman discuss Vice President Kamala Harris’s “opportunity economy” and how its newly introduced pillar focused on manufacturing will impact voters.

Newman says Harris has been intentional about not getting too specific with policy ideas because they are, “basically going to be the same as Biden with a few little differences.” However, “she has risen in the polls simply because people like her more than Donald Trump.”

Werschkul believes in addition to that, “voters want to hear a candidate just talking about these issues and showing that they care.”

We’re a little less than 40 days out until we find out which ultimately sways voters more.
