Coming out of their January policy meeting, Federal Reserve officials opted to hold US interest rates where they are in a range of 4.25-4.5%. Yahoo Finance senior Fed reporter Jennifer Schonberger recounts the biggest takeaways from the press conference with Fed Chair Jerome Powell that followed the decision.
"With our policy stance significantly less restrictive than it had been and the economy remaining strong, we do not need to be in a hurry to adjust our policy stance," Powell explained at the press event. The central bank chairman also stated he has not been in contact with the new Trump administration or President Trump himself.
