EU's Virkkunen Says Digital Rules Are Not Trade Barriers
The European Union's digital minister says that the bloc's rules governing digital platforms like X and Meta Platforms Inc. should not be considered barriers to trade with the US. Digital rules are a "separate thing" from trade barriers because "when it comes to European digital rules, these are same rules for everybody," Henna Virkkunen, executive vice-president of the European Commission for technological sovereignty, tells Bloomberg Television's Oliver Crook during an interview in Brussels.
