'Don't overreact to market volatility': Strategist

The market has experienced volatility recently, but how should investors react? Powers Advisory Group Managing Partner Matt Powers joins Yahoo Finance to give his insights on investing amid market volatility.

"Our advice really has been don't overreact to market volatility, especially don't completely sell-off some of the affected areas. But start looking more opportunistic, start looking at some of the unloved, unappreciated areas of the market," Powers explains.

A few sectors Powers is looking at are consumer staples, healthcare, and utilities. In consumer staples, Powers notes Mondelez International (MDLZ), adding "right now, you'd lock in a once in a decade high in their dividend yield." In healthcare, Powers points out Eli Lilly and Company (LLY) as the company's second quarter earnings showed that "both Zepbound and Mounjaro just crushed sales estimates and they beat their earnings and they beat their revenue numbers and they increased guidance."
