Another sign the IPO window may be opening. Discord, the popular chat app reportedly has hired its bankers for its long-awaited initial public offering. Bloomberg saying the company is working with Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan. Just last week, our very own Brad Smith sat down with Discord CEO, Jason Citron, who wouldn't directly address the company's plans to go public.

Based on data on Yahoo Finance, the current valuation of Discord is roughly $6.6 billion dollars. The company last did a fundraising round in 2021 at a $15.1 billion dollar valuation, Julie.

Yeah, that's new data, by the way, that we have on our website that you can look at a private company valuations here. We've been discussing so much. Is the IPO window open? Is it not open? This one's going to be the test. No, that one's going to be the test. I guess it depends on which one of these is first to come to market. Will it be something like a core weave, which is scheduled to come public? But there are are still some questions about the valuation. Will it be a Discord? Will it be a Klarna? All these companies that we've been waiting for. We do know is that the IPOs this week, this year thus far have been a lot slower and smaller, just like the M&A has than had been expected.

Yeah, we had, I mean, we had venture investors come on who were broadly bullish about the market because they thought the regulatory backdrop was going to get easier because they saw an economy that looked to be on solid footing. But now throw in a market that gets real volatile real quick. How that how that impacts that dynamic, we'll see.
