The Conference Board's consumer confidence index rose to 111.7 in November, a 2.1 point month-over-month rise that was just shy of estimates of 111.8 for this month. Simultaneously, the US Census Bureau reported 610,000 US new home sales that occurred in October, also below economist estimates for 725,000.
