Cohesity CEO on the impact of Trump 2.0 on the cybersecurity sector

President Donald Trump announced a new $500 billion artificial intelligence project called "Stargate." The project is a private-sector investment in infrastructure for AI.

Cohesity CEO and President Sanjay Poonen joins Market Domination Overtime Anchors Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton to discuss the implications for the cybersecurity sector.

"We are focused on protecting the world's data, and a lot of these projects, whether it's Stargate or others, are based on AI of large amounts of data," says Poonen. "What we do well is protect the world's data and provide both tools to secure it from ransomware attacks."

Poonen also talked about the relationship between the U.S. and China and any threats that China poses to cybersecurity under Trump's second term.

"China is on the radar of many of the cybersecurity folks that we work with in the government," says Poonen.

When asked about the potential of an IPO for Cohesity, Poonen says "Certainly doing an IPO is on the radar. It's not the destination of any company. It's a milestone and we are the most profitable company."
