China's Nvidia probe could be tactic to negotiate with Trump

In This Article:

China has opened an antitrust probe into Nvidia (NVDA), sending the AI chipmaker stock lower. KraneShares CIO Brendan Ahern joins Market Domination Co-Hosts Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton to share his read of the investigation in the context of ongoing geopolitical tensions between the US and China.

"Maybe the Chinese policymakers picked up a copy of 'Art of the Deal,' [a book by US President-elect Donald Trump], and they're using a significantly widely held US company that does a lot of revenue in China, more than 10% of Nvidia's revenue is in China, maybe this is one of their leveraging tactics going into what we believe will be fruitful negotiations between the US and Chinese government."

He adds, "I think, ultimately, the two sides, [China and the US come] together. All of these issues can be worked out because the two sides economically do need one another."
