Archer Aviation (ACHR) has secured $430 million in funding and is partnering with Anduril to build a defense aircraft. Archer Aviation CEO Adam Goldstein joins Catalysts with Seana Smith and Madison Mills to discuss the company's new defense unit.
"Today, we announced the Archer Defense business unit, which is a business unit that will leverage all the technologies that we have been working on on the commercial side," Goldstein says, explaining, "A good way to think about this is expanding kind of what we already do."
The CEO adds details on the eVTOL developer's (electric vertical take-off and landing) exclusive partnership with Anduril: "Anduril being the premier defense tech company in the world, it's an amazing partner for Archer. But the investment community was very positive on this as well, and we raised an additional $430 million of capital to go alongside it."
