AMD stock rises on earnings beat, Q3 revenue guidance

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) reported better-than-expected second quarter results. Adjusted earnings of $0.69 was better than the estimated $0.68. Overall revenue of $5.84 billion topped Street expectations of $5.73 billion. Data center revenue, which includes GPU and CPU sales, was $2.83 billion vs. $1.32 billion versus an expected $2.75 billion.

The company also posted better-than-expected Q3 revenue guidance of $6.7 billion plus or minus $300 million. The Street was looking for $6.6 billion.
