3 tips for saving on childcare costs when 'time is money'

Parents spend 22% on childcare expenses on average, according to a Care.com survey. Brainly parenting and education expert Leticia Barr joins Wealth host Brad Smith to share tips for saving on childcare.

Barr outlines three tips for parents trying to cut costs associated with care, noting that "time is money."

"First of all, use your network of parents," she says. "Everybody wants to have a date night, everybody needs time for themselves ... coordinate with families in your area to reduce the cost of childcare."

Her second tip is to "rotate those childcare duties so you get a break." Finally, for older children, Barr recommends being "strategic about their time off work" by setting them up with free tools that can aid them in homework completion.
