3 stocks retail investors turned to when stocks fell this week

In this article:

Some retail investors used the market sell-off earlier this week as a buying opportunity. IG Group North America CEO JJ Kinahan joins Yahoo Finance to discuss some of the names that retail investors turned to.

"Every crisis... we've had over the last five years, where retail traders tend to start are two technology names, Apple (AAPL) and Microsoft (MSFT)," Kinahan explains, "we saw those be the first two places our clients went to when things turned tough." "The other stock I found very interesting... Coca-Cola (KO). So those three were sort of the names that led."

Kinahan adds that "Apple and Microsoft are going to be names that retail trades significantly anyways, but made up a larger percentage of trading on Monday and Tuesday, for sure, as people were looking for places to go buy."

Watch the video above to hear what Kinahan has to say about Intel (INTC) and REITs.
