Stocks set to open lower, jobless claims, bitcoin: 3 Things
US stock futures (ES=F, NQ=F, YM=F) indicate that the major averages will open lower the day after Christmas. The equity markets closed higher on Tuesday, December 24, and were closed on December 25 for the holiday. Initial jobless claims for the week ending December 21 were 219,000, 1,000 less than the 220,00 from the prior week. It was also less than the Bloomberg consensus estimate of 223,000. Bitcoin (BTC-USD )is also falling. The cryptocurrency hasn't traded above $100,000 for a week.
