Dollar General Stock Takes Off After Earnings. Here’s What We Know.

Dollar General stock was climbing Tuesday after the discount retailer beat Wall Street’s fiscal first-quarter earnings estimates on the back of strong same-store sales growth. “We are pleased with our start to the year, including strong same-store sales and EPS results,” said CEO Todd Vasos, who added that the retailer saw market-share gains in both consumables and non-consumables. Dollar General shares were up 9% to $106 in premarket trading.
