Coinbase CEO: Trump 'breathed life' into crypto industry

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong joined Yahoo Finance Senior Reporter Jennifer Schonberger at the first-ever White House crypto summit to discuss how the Trump administration is trying to support the crypto industry. "President Trump really breathed life back into this industry over the last few years. We really felt like we were being unlawfully attacked by the prior administration... The president has taken a leadership role here and decided to bring it back to the US, and it's already having positive results," Armstrong says. He highlights that Coinbase (COIN) is planning to hire a thousand people in response to regulatory clarity. On bitcoin's (BTC-USD) volatility, he states, “the goal is not necessarily to have bitcoin be zero volatility. We want the price to go up over time." What to expect from the White House's crypto summit

US President Donald Trump is set to hold a crypto summit at the White House on Friday. Chamber of Progress CEO and founder Adam Kovacevich sits down with Seana Smith and Madison Mills on Catalysts to discuss what investors will be watching for at the event. Trump announced via a social media post that the new strategic crypto reserve will be comprised of cryptocurrencies ethereum (ETH-USD), Solana (SOL-USD), XRP (XRP-USD), cardano (ADA-USD), and bitcoin (BTC-USD). Shares of DoorDash, Williams-Sonoma, Expand Energy and TKO Group rose in extended trade on Friday after an announcement they would join the S&P 500. The four companies will join Wall Street's most widely followed stock benchmark before the start of trading on Monday, March 24, S&P Dow Jones Indices said in a news release. Two brokerage units of Robinhood Markets have agreed to pay $29.75 million to settle an investigation by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority into a range of violations, some of which date back more than a decade.
