BERLIN (Reuters) -Rheinmetall, a major beneficiary of Europe's renewed push to invest in defence, said on Wednesday it expects significant sales growth in 2025 and promised to update guidance after recent geopolitical developments are taken into account. The German defence company expects sales to grow by 25% to 30% in 2025 as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the decoupling of the United States from Europe, it said. At the same time, Europe's top ammunition maker anticipates an improvement in the operating result and an operating margin of around 15.5%, slightly above the 2024 level of 15.2%.

Zara owner Inditex on Wednesday reported a slower start to its first quarter starting February 1, raising questions around its ability to keep building on rapid recent growth and sending its shares down more than 8% in early trading. Strong sales from Zara, which has been gaining market share from rivals such as H&M, have led to a doubling of Inditex's share price over the past three years. ZURICH (Reuters) -Roche has acquired rights to an obesity therapy by Denmark's Zealand Pharma in a collaboration deal worth up to $5.3 billion, as the Swiss drugmaker seeks to boost its prospects in the booming weight-loss market. The agreement covering Zealand's compound petrelintide, signals renewed efforts by Roche to catch up with obesity market leaders Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly. Under the accord, Zealand will receive $1.65 billion upfront with the possibility of milestone payments taking the total sum to $5.3 billion, depending mainly on late-stage trials and sales development, Roche said.
