Julius Baer pays interim CEO $6.6 million in 2024

Swiss private bank Julius Baer delivered a total pay package to its ad interim chief executive officer Nic Dreckmann of 5.8 million Swiss francs ($6.56 million) in 2024, the firm said in its annual report on Monday. In 2023, Dreckmann's predecessor, Philipp Rickenbacher, received compensation of 1.7 million Swiss francs in the wake of hefty losses the Swiss bank reported from its exposure to collapsed property group Signa. ZURICH (Reuters) -The chairman of Julius Baer, Romeo Lacher, is to step down, the Swiss bank said on Monday, as it continues a management shake-up that began a year ago after it suffered major losses from exposure to collapsed property group Signa. In a statement, Baer said that Lacher would not stand for re-election at its annual general meeting on April 10 and that his proposed successor would be nominated in March. Lacher informed the board of his decision in 2024, the bank said.

ZURICH (Reuters) -Swiss private bank Julius Baer's shares fell 10% on Thursday after the wealth manager missed profit forecasts and reported only a tepid increase in cash inflows from rich clients. The first half results were the latest blow for Julius Baer which has had a tumultuous start to 2024 with CEO Philipp Rickenbacher exiting after the bank reported losses of 586 million Swiss francs ($663.80 million) on loans to collapsed property giant Signa. The affair dented customer confidence in the Zurich-based wealth manager, leading to clients withdrawing cash in January, before inflows turned positive from February to June.
