How Stocktwits is tapping into the retail trading community
Stocktwits is a social media platform for investors focused on discussions and community for traders. Stocktwits head of community Noor Al sits down with Josh Lipton on Asking for a Trend to discuss retail investor sentiment heading into 2025. Al says the Stocktwits community is excited about the "future," explaining how AI, crypto, and meme stock trading are all "blowing up on Stocktwits." Looking at crypto, he highlights names like MicroStrategy (MSTR) amid bitcoin's (BTC-USD) post-election rally, saying, "Every time [executive chairman] Michael Saylor tweets... crypto mentions are up something like three times previous highs, and they're just all-time highs every day." He reports that on Stocktwits, there are 300,000 watchers of GameStop (GME), which "blew up" when Roaring Kitty tweeted. Al adds that Reddit (RDDT) is among the stocks in focus on the platform.
