Shares of lung cancer-focused biotech Summit Therapeutics (NASDAQ: SMMT) rallied 16.6% at its highs of the day before settling into a 10.4% gain on Thursday as of 3:54 p.m. EDT, even though the broader markets were down significantly on the day at that time, including the SPDR S&P Biotech ETF (NYSEMKT: XBI), which was down 4.4%. (Reuters) -Vaccine maker Novavax's shares plunged nearly 20% at market close on Thursday, after Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. raised concerns about the company's COVID-19 vaccine in an interview with CBS News. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, an agency that is part of the HHS, missed its deadline last week for deciding on the traditional approval of the vaccine.
