China's COMAC aims to lift C919 jet production capacity to 50 this year, report says Chinese planemaker COMAC plans to raise production capacity for its homegrown C919 single-aisle planes to 50 this year, a COMAC executive told a media outlet supported by the Shanghai government. COMAC Deputy General Manager Shen Bo also said the Shanghai-based state-owned firm aims to manufacture 30 C919 aircraft this year, in an interview with The Paper published on Saturday. COMAC says Air China is the first customer for C929 widebody jet ZHUHAI, China (Reuters) -COMAC said on Tuesday that Air China was the first customer for the Chinese planemaker's C929 widebody aircraft under development that is designed to compete with twin-aisle models from Airbus and Boeing. COMAC's deputy director of marketing, Liu Yan, made the announcement at China's biggest air show in Zhuhai. Liu did not disclose the number of aircraft that Beijing-based Air China would purchase or planned delivery dates. Boeing restarts new plane deliveries to China Boeing has restarted wide-body jet deliveries to China that were halted in recent weeks due to a Chinese regulatory review which also stalled new narrow-body deliveries by the U.S. planemaker, according to flight tracking data and two sources. All Boeing deliveries to China are now set to resume, a source told Reuters. New Boeing deliveries to China have been off and on since 2019 after two fatal crashes of MAX 8 jets and amid intensifying tensions over issues ranging from technology to national security between Washington and Beijing.
