A US strategic reserve could push bitcoin to $500K: Bitwise CIO Bitcoin (BTC-USD) is hovering around its all-time high reached earlier this week, currently above $106,000. Bitwise Asset Management CIO Matt Hougan expects bitcoin's run to continue straight from here and even reach $200,000 by this time next year. "The real story is people just wake up to bitcoin at different paces — We saw retail investors get their first, we've seen companies and financial advisors get there, we're starting to see institutions get there," Hougan tells Market Domination's Julie Hyman and Josh Lipton. "And once they realize that bitcoin is not going away, that it belongs in a portfolio, they have to get off zero, get to 1%. Blackrock now says 2%. So it's just this cascading series of educational breakthroughs that brings new people into the market." Bitwise operates several of its own bitcoin (BITB, BITC, BTOP) and crypto (BITQ, BITW) ETFs. Hougan comments on the tailwind a US investment into a strategic bitcoin reserve could bring to the cryptocurrency's pricing, while also touching upon crypto exchange Coinbase Global's (COIN) potential growth. 'It's a bullish environment for Big Tech': Dan Ives Wedbush Securities has raised its price target on Tesla (TSLA) to a street-high $515 per share, maintaining an Outperform rating on the stock. The analyst behind the call, Managing Director and Global Head of Technology Research Dan Ives, joins Market Domination to weigh in on his Tesla outlook. Ives highlighted the potential impact of the upcoming Trump administration, calling it "a total game changer for Musk." He believes the autonomous technology segment could be valued at $2 trillion or higher by 2025. Regarding potential tariffs, Ives suggests the "bromance" between Musk and Trump will allow Tesla to thrive. "In our view, Tesla ultimately wins because of their presence in China," he explained. Ives believes Musk "made a bet for the ages on Trump" and expects the stock to continue rising. "In some ways, they both need each other," Ives stated. He anticipates their alliance will strengthen, potentially collaborating on AI innovation, China tariff discussions, and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) concerns. "It's a bullish environment for Big Tech," he told Yahoo Finance. To watch more expert insights and analysis on the latest market action, check out more Market Domination here. This post was written by Angel Smith Tesla will be the 'biggest winner' in 2025, this analyst says CFRA analyst Garrett Nelson joins Catalysts host Seana Smith to discuss his Tesla (TSLA) outlook for 2025, reaffirming his Buy rating on the stock. "I think the stock is pricing in a much easier regulatory environment for autonomous driving, and we think Tesla has the best technology out there," he tells Yahoo Finance, noting that the stock has surged tremendously since the 2024 election results. "They're really going to be the biggest winner." Nelson explains that President-elect Donald Trump's transition team has identified autonomous driving regulation as "the number one priority" for the Department of Transportation to make autonomous vehicles a "reality." He describes this as "the future of Tesla," which will "unleash" an enormous market opportunity for the company. However, Nelson forecasts that the electric vehicle maker will fall short of its 2025 sales targets. He tells Yahoo Finance: "If they continue to make progress towards getting approval for fully autonomous vehicles, that's really what's going to matter more, and we think investors will be forgiving if they fall short of that guidance." This post was written by Angel Smith Expect a correction in 2025, be ready to buy the dip: Strategist The Federal Reserve may slow down the pace of its rate-easing cycle in 2025. Main Street Research chief investment officer James Demmert tells Morning Brief hosts Seana Smith and Brad Smith this could cause a market (^DJI,^GSPC, ^IXIC) correction, which he says is an opportunity for investors to buy on the dip. “Investors should recognize that ‘25 is going to be really different than ‘24,” Demmert says, also noting that “this rally, which has been really dramatic since July, is starting to look a little bit vulnerable.” Investors need to "prepare themselves emotionally for, let's say, a normal correction of 8% to 12% in markets. We really haven't seen much of that," the CIO continues. "You can also prepare your portfolio by maybe paring some of these giant gains that we've seen in the last couple of years." The strategist adds that 2025's "key point" for investors will be "realizing that the Fed really is already probably at the neutral rate [and] they're probably not going to have to cut very much at all in 2025 because they kind of got the economy where they want it… The market [will] have a nice big correction [and] investors should buy that correction because we're in [the early phases] a bull market.” Watch the video above to learn more about Demmert’s investment strategy heading into 2025.
