The U.S. economy has been growing, and the unemployment rate has been falling, according to government figures. But not every state is doing as well as the nation as a whole, and some certainly would be hit harder if the U.S. were to slip into another recession. Those states tend to be less economically diverse.

GOBankingRates looked at the percentage of state employment by industry sector compared with the national employment average in each sector to pinpoint which states might be too dependent on certain industries.
