Facebook says Soros allegations 'wrong' after Zuckerberg criticism
Facebook is pushing back against allegations made by billionaire financier George Soros who, in a New York Times opinion piece, accused Mark Zuckerberg of not running the social networking giant through an independent lens when it comes to political ads.
In a statement, a Facebook spokesperson tells FOX Business Soros was “wrong.”

“The notion that we are aligned with any one political figure or party runs counter to our values and the facts,” the spokesperson said. “We continue making unprecedented investments to keep our platform safe, fight foreign interference in elections around the world and combat misinformation."

Soros argued that Facebook and Zuckerberg, the company’s founder and CEO, are “not at all” behaving more responsibly than it did during the 2016 presidential election. The company has since acknowledged it ran political ads about the race from Russian-backed sources. But Soros pointed to Facebook’s decision to not fact-check political ads and said its design “tends to obscure the sources of inflammatory and false content.”
