Paytech firm Worldline has collaborated with Software as a Service (SaaS) platform provider Forthcode to provide in-flight payment solutions in India, leveraging its Android POS machines.

This will address the hurdles linked to handling ancillary revenue for airlines, which need time-consuming manual processes.

The alliance aims to address this hurdle and helps integrate in-flight retail, inventory management, and payment solutions on a single platform, which is hosted on the cloud.

This SaaS solution can manage complete operations, including catering management and onboard sales.

The new system allows travellers to make cashless purchases onboard, supporting quick transactions and automated reconciliation.

Worldline India executive vice president Sheik Mohideen said: “Our partnership with Forthcode to enhance the in-flight experience demonstrates our commitment to providing a comprehensive omnichannel payment solution. I am confident that this collaboration will lead to smarter and more inclusive payment options that can accelerate business growth.”

Forthcode CEO Ajith Balakumar stated: "This partnership with Worldline marks a significant milestone in our journey to drive innovation in the fintech/aviation space. At Forthcode, we believe in the power of technology to transform industries, and by aligning our expertise with Worldline’s leadership in secure payments, we are setting new standards for what’s possible in digital commerce. Together, we are ready to empower airlines worldwide."

Recently, Worldline collaborated with Telr, a Dubai-based payment gateway aggregator to launch an e-commerce payments solution tailored for the UAE market.

"Worldline, Forthcode partner on in-flight payment solutions in India " was originally created and published by Electronic Payments International, a GlobalData owned brand.
