Wi-Fi seen beating cellular

Goldman Sachs says Wi-Fi networks, not cellular, will rule the wireless-access tech landscape in machine-to-machine communications, since they use unlicensed spectrum free of monthly fees. Chipmakers such as Broadcom (BRCM) and Qualcomm (QCOM), and gear makers such as Cisco Systems (CSCO) and Netgear (NTGR) stand to benefit from Wi-Fi taking the lead, adds Goldman. Broadcom shares fell 0.4% to 36.86. Cisco rose 0.2% to 24.70.
