West Michigan Works relocates Holland service center to The Shops at Westshore

HOLLAND TWP. — West Michigan Works has officially relocated its Holland service center to The Shops at Westshore, the most recent addition to a steadily growing complex.

The 14,903-square-foot space will continue to offer job seekers and employers throughout Ottawa County with services 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Fridays. The previous center at 121 Clover St. — where West Michigan Works operated since 2005 — closed its doors in June.

“The (new) location provides great visibility for the service center,” said COOhief Operating Officer Angie Barksdale. “We’re also very excited about the proximity to key partners, Grand Rapids Community College and (the Ottawa County) Department of Health and Human Services.”

Grand Rapids Community College opened its Lakeshore Campus in The Shops at Westshore in August 2021. Since then, several new businesses have opened in the complex, including Tha Rock'N Roosta and Crumbl Cookies.

Also joining The Shops is Sherwin-Williams, a paint store looking to open an additional Holland location.

West Michigan Works is part of the statewide Michigan Works, and serves Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon and Ottawa counties.
