Water company advises Roaring Brook residents to boil water

Aug. 8—About 50 Roaring Brook Twp. Pennsylvania American Water customers should boil their water or use bottled water until further notice, the utility said Tuesday.

Affected customers are on Blue Shutters, Sunset Road, Relda, Mosswood and Beechwood roads and Forest Drive. For a map of the affected area, visit alertsdetail.awapps.com/alert/26717.

The water company blamed a main break it is working to repair that reduced water pressure and created conditions that could contaminate water.

Customers should boil all tap water for at least a minute or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation. The company placed a water tanker for affected customers at the intersection of Mosswood and Beechwood roads.
