A 10.5-acre property in Paso Robles’ Willow Creek District is listed for sale — for a cool $4.25 million.
The property at 2925 Anderson Road contains two 5,000-square-foot production facilities and a 2-acre malbec vineyard, according to the property listing. The production facilities are adjacent to the tasting room, and the property also has an outdoor venue for events, the listing said.
Midnight Cellars, one of Paso Robles’ original wineries, is also on the property but is not involved in the sale, owner Rich Hartenberger told The Tribune.
He and wife Michele Hartenberger started the winery in 1995 after his father bought the land, according to Hartenberger. Now, they’re looking for a new property owner.
“My kids aren’t really interested in the business, and I just want to make it easier for me as I get older, just simplify my life a bit,” he said.
Hartenberger has run Midnight Cellars for nearly 30 years, but is shifting his focus toward a smaller production of wines.
He said he plans to keep the label and inventory of Midnight Cellars and is looking forward to celebrating the winery’s 30th anniversary in March.
“The wine business is an adventure every day,” he said. “I just want everybody to know that I’m still in business, and I will be for years to come and I’m not going anywhere.”
