Virginia listed as 2024 America’s Top State for Business by CNBC

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia was listed as “America’s Top State for Business” for 2024, according to CNBC.

Gov. Glenn Youngkin made this announcement on Thursday while he was in Virginia Beach.

“It is exciting and well-earned news from Gov. Youngkin that the Commonwealth has been ranked the No. 1 state for business,” said Virginia Beach Director of Economic Development Chuck Rigney. “This recognition amplifies the vast economic development opportunities available to businesses that choose to locate in both Virginia and our city.”

The annual ranking by CNBC measures all 50 states on 128 metrics in 10 key categories of competitiveness, including infrastructure, workforce and quality of life.

Virginia also received this recognition by CNBC in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2019 and 2021.

They said the ring stole from another retail giant as well.

“We have found that Target has a significant role as a victim in this atter as well. And we are working with their loss prevention to try to see what we can do as far as criminal charges on their behalf.”
