TORRANCE, CA--(Marketwired - November 04, 2013) - Verengo Inc, the nation's leading specialist, was featured this week in the 2nd annual Inc. Hire Power Awards, recognizing the private businesses that have generated the most jobs in the past three years. Verengo was ranked #40 nationally in 2013 up from #69th in 2012.
Verengo generated 408 jobs from January 1st, 2012 to June 30th 2013, placing it at the top of private business solar job creators with a 300% employee growth over the past 18 months.
"We are thankful to be able to provide meaningful jobs, especially in a challenging economy," said Ken Button, President and Co-Founder of Verengo Inc. "Our dynamic growth has been directly attributable to the enthusiasm and commitment of those employees, and as our company continues to expand into new rooftop solar markets like New York, so do career opportunities increase for the Verengo team."
"It is an honor as well as a responsibility to be recognized by the Inc. Hire Power Award selection committee these first two years and we look forward to being on this list for many years to come," said Verengo Inc. CEO and Co-Founder Randy Bishop.
"We're fortunate to be part of a thriving, growing industry and appreciate the validation we've received not only for the many jobs that we've created in 2012 and 2013 but for the faith our customers continue to place in rooftop solar," added Verengo Human Resources Vice President Rob Shneer. "As electricity rates continue to increase and solar prices continue to drop, we anticipate significant growth in 2014 and are currently hiring qualified applicants across our company."
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that only 222,000 full-time jobs were added in 2012 -- compare those numbers to the honorees of the Inc. magazine's Hire Power Awards, which created 69,182 jobs between January 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013.
"For the second year in a row, we are pleased to recognize the employers who are putting Americans back to work," says Eric Schurenberg, Editor-in-Chief of Inc. "The Hire Power Awards are the only awards that single out job creators. We think it's fitting to pay tribute to company founders not just for their business prowess but also for their immense contribution to the welfare of U.S. workers and the vitality of the U.S. economy."
"At Bank of America Merrill Lynch, we understand the vital role of small and mid-sized businesses in the local economy," said George Smith, head of Business Banking, Bank of America Merrill Lynch. "And we are proud to partner with Inc. to sponsor the Hire Power Awards to recognize these business leaders."
