Vallourec has secured a contract from Allseas to supply line pipes for the Búzios 10 offshore project in Brazil.

The deal involves nearly 18,000 tonnes (t) of subsea seamless premium carbon steel line pipes, with an optional scope of almost 5,000t.

Located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, the Búzios field is among the world's largest deep-water oil fields and a major part of Petrobras' operations.

With five additional units expected to start by 2028, the field's production is set to increase substantially.

The contract also incorporates Vallourec's Pipe Navigator solution, a digital portal for instant access to contractual documentation, data and analysis of line pipe projects.

The production will take place at Vallourec's facility in Jeceaba, Minas Gerais, Brazil, to ensure high local content and a reduced carbon footprint.

Vallourec group chairman and CEO Philippe Guillemot said: “This contract reinforces our strategic positioning in Brazil, one of our key markets for complex offshore projects. It also serves as legacy to our ability to deliver premium tubular solutions, fully manufactured in Brazil.

“This contract also validates the investment strategy implemented over the past three years to enhance our industrial performance and meet the most demanding requirements of our customers.”

Vallourec provides tubular solutions for energy markets and industrial applications such as oil and gas wells in harsh environments, and new generation power plants.

Earlier this month, Vallourec secured a contract to supply oil country tubular goods (OCTG) to Sonatrach, Algeria's national oil and gas company.

The contract requires Vallourec to deliver carbon steel OCTG threaded with its premium VAM connections, a recognised standard in the Algerian market.

"Vallourec to supply line pipes for Brazil’s Búzios 10 offshore project" was originally created and published by Offshore Technology, a GlobalData owned brand.
