Vinson & Elkins continues to expand its leveraged finance practice in London, hiring partner Lucy Jenkins from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
Jenkins joined Vinson & Elkins on Wednesday. In September, the firm hired another leveraged finance partner in London, Noel Hughes, who left Sidley Austin's London office.

Jenkins, who had been counsel at Simpson Thacher and spent 13 years at the firm, said she could not pass up the opportunity to join Vinson & Elkins because of the firm's reputation, its people and its clients. She said there's a "wonderful feeling of entrepreneurial spirit" at Vinson & Elkins.
Scott Wulfe, Houston-based Vinson & Elkins' managing partner, said in a statement that Jenkins is a rising star whose "impressive experience and enthusiasm for building her practice is exactly what we look for in a V&E partner."
Jenkins declined to identify her clients, but said she has done work for major private equity funds and banks.
The firm has added other corporate partners in London recently, including Paul Simcock in January and John Dawson and Federico Fruhbeck, who joined in late 2017.
Vinson & Elkins has 76 lawyers in its London office, which opened in 1971.
Simpson Thacher did not immediately provide a comment on Jenkins' departure.
